One of the area's most impressive clubhouses dominates the landscape at Odyssey in Tinley Park. The Par-72, 7,095-yard links-style layout, was designed by Harry Bowers (with input from Curtis Strange) and hosted the 1996 Illinois Women's Open. While offering plenty of birdie opportunities, a number of blind carries, generous use of sand and abundant water force golfers to stay focused for all 18 holes. The back nine is somewhat more difficult and features a stone-walled island green at the Par 5, 16th, as well as a dramatic approach over water at the finishing hole. (With a postcard view of the expansive clubhouse deck in the background) A lighted range with target greens, bent grass fairways, tees and greens, and banquet facilities for company events are some of the other ameneties at this moderately priced golf venue.
